When is ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ coming to streaming?
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” will be available to stream on Warner Bros. Discovery’s streamer Max starting Friday, Dec. 6.
What is ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ about?
Set in the modern day, Lydia Deetz is still haunted by her experience with Betelgeuse, the so-called “bio-exorcist” she was forced to marry over 30 years ago. She’s estranged from her daughter Astrid and hosts a paranormal talk show to try and bring closure to other people who have had paranormal experiences.
Meanwhile, in the Netherworld, Betelgeuse still obsesses over Lydia. Astrid learns that she has inherited her mother’s psychic gifts, and follows a boy she recently met named Jeremy into the Netherworld at his invitation. Desperate to retrieve her daughter at any cost, Lydia signs a new marriage contract with Betelgeuse in exchange for his aid in finding her. But will she get more than she bargained for along the way?
Who stars in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’?
Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton both reprise their roles from the original “Beetlejuice,” as does Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. Jenna Ortega plays Lydia’s daughter Astrid, Justin Theroux portrays Lydia’s boyfriend Rory, and Willem Dafoe guest stars as Wolf Jackson, a Netherworld Detective. Monica Belluci portrays Delores LaFerve, another ex-wife of Betelgeuse’s. There are plenty of other surprises in the cast, but I won’t spoil everything here.
Where can you stream the first ‘Beetlejuice’?
Like the new film, the original “Beetlejuice” from 1988 is available to stream on Max.
How long did it take ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ to hit streaming?
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” first became available in theaters on Sept. 6, which means that it will be 91 days before its streaming date on Max. It’s been available on digital rental and purchase platforms for a few weeks now, but Dec. 6 is the first time it will be available to watch anywhere with a subscription.
I predicted that “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” would have a bit longer of a release window, but it appears that WBD wanted to capitalize on holiday viewing opportunities with the movie.
