FanDuel Sports Network will soon carry single-game pricing options
The streaming service known until recently as Bally Sports+ carries 13 NBA teams and eight NHL clubs.
As it turns out, more will change in the FanDuel Sports Network rebrand than just iconography and user interfaces. The streaming platform — and the 16 regional sports networks also owned by Diamond Sports Group — was transformed into FanDuel Sports Network in October, after Bally’s naming rights deal for the channels/streaming service expired. Now that the evolution is complete, FanDuel Sports Network is preparing to offer a feature that the old Bally Sports+ streamer never did: single-game options that will allow fans to pay for just one game at a time if they choose.
Key Details:
- Single-game purchases will start at $7 each.
- Viewers will be able to sign up for a single game with all 21 of the NBA and NHL teams partnered with FanDuel Sports Networks.
- Single-game pricing will begin on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The FanDuel Sports Network streaming service will begin offering single-game streaming options at $7 each. It’s a great way for fans to watch a marquee game against a big-name opponent without being stuck on the hook for a full FanDuel Sports Network subscription at $20 per month.
Customers who are within the broadcast footprint of one of the 16 FanDuel Sports Network TV channels will be able to use the streamer to watch single games from 13 NBA teams and eight NHL teams.
“The addition of single-game pricing allows fans to now catch their local NBA and NHL teams on a game-by-game basis, enhancing the flexibility of our offering,” FanDuel Sports Network executive Michael Schneider said. “This is yet another example of how we remain committed to delivering an array of viewing options and features to make it easier for our viewers to watch their favorite teams.”
The pay-per-game option for games on FanDuel Sports Network will become available to customers starting on Thursday, Dec. 5. There was no word yet on whether or not FanDuel Sports Network will offer a single-game option for MLB teams; currently, only the St. Louis Cardinals are confirmed to stream there next year. The Miami Marlins recently agreed to a new deal with FanDuel Sports Network for 2025 as well, but it’s not yet clear if its new agreement with the channel includes digital rights as its former one did.
FanDuel Sports Network’s move to introduce a single-game option is a great way to provide more flexibility to fans. Now, the focus shifts to bankruptcy court, where FanDuel Sports Network’s parent company Diamond Sports Group is facing a confirmation vote for its reorganization plan on Nov. 14.
