Learn how to permanently remove movies and shows from your Prime Video watchlist

It’s simple to pull titles off your Prime Video watchlist — if you know how!

Prime Video's Watchlist makes it easy to delete titles, if you know how!

Removing clutter is one of the most satisfying things a person can do, whether in a bedroom closet or digital clutter. One of the most common sources of the latter is movies and TV shows that fill up your streaming service watchlists. Once you’ve watched them, they tend to just…linger. The Streamable readers have noted that Prime Video in particular can make it tricky to remove shows and movies from its Watchlist section, and if you need to know how to get them out of there to make room for other titles, I’ll give you step-by-step instructions below!

Everything you need to know to delete shows and movies from your Prime Video watchlist

How to add shows and movies to your Prime Video Watchlist

Amazon’s streamer makes it very easy to add shows and movies to your Watchlist in the first place. Every content tile on the streamer’s interface expands when you hover your cursor over it, revealing a large, conspicuously placed “+” button. Clicking this will instantly add that title to your watchlist.

The + button to add a show or movie to your Watchlist on Prime Video is easy to find.

Once you’ve added a title to your Watchlist, all you have to do is navigate to the bookmark icon next to your profile avatar, then click “Watchlist” to see all the shows and movies you’ve saved! It’s a fantastically simple way to track all the titles you want to watch, but may not have time to squeeze into a single viewing session.

How to delete shows and movies from your Prime Video Watchlist

So you’ve saved a show or movie to your Prime Video Watchlist, streamed it, and now you’re ready to move on. So how do you delete these titles so they’re not cluttering up the space?

Believe it or not, it’s as easy as adding them to the list in the first place. Simply hover your cursor over the show or movie tile you want to remove from your Watchlist, and you’ll see the “+” symbol has been replaced by a large checkmark.

Clicking the checkmark symbol will remove a show or movie from your Prime Video Watchlist.

Clicking that checkmark will remove the show or movie from your watchlist. It’s easy to see how customers might be confused by this; Prime Video clearly meant for it to be the most intuitive way to remove shows and movies from the list, but it’s natural that many viewers wouldn’t see the checkmark option and think of it as a way to pull that show or movie from the list.

There are tens of thousands of TV shows and movies to stream on Prime Video, so the Watchlist is a helpful feature you’ll want to make use of when you stream it! Now, you can do so without having to worry that anything you put on the list will be difficult to take off again.
