Despite the fact that the Cardinals and Nationals were the teams with the lowest winning percentage of the NL teams to qualify for the postseason — they continue on their quest to win the Word Series. St. Louis defeated Atlanta in a hard-fought five game series, but dominated the Braves in Game 5. The Washington Nationals hit back-to-back home runs in late in Game 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and won the series clinching game in extra innings.
Game 1 will see Miles Mikolas of the Cardinals face Anibal Sanchez of the Nationals. Washington has a dynamic combo of Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto in the 3-4 spot of the line-up, while the Cards have depth throughout the line-up.
