PlayersTV Adds Four New Streaming Platforms
Athlete-owned streaming network PlayersTV has announced new distribution agreements with Philo, Local Now, YouTube TV, and Rakuten TV.
The combined deals will expand PlayersTV’s footprint to more than 285 million devices around the world. PlayersTV produces and distributes original content featuring athletes including Chris Paul, CJ McCollum, DeAndre Jordan, and Damian Lillard. Others are slated to be announced.
The new distribution partners are in addition to existing agreements with Samsung, ReachTV, Sling TV, LG, VIZIO, Roku, and Xumo.
YouTube TV announced the launch of PlayersTV along with six other networks as part of its Sports Plus add-on in early September. The additional channels joined the YouTube TV lineup on September 8.
PlayersTV was launched in 2020 by a group of athlete investors that included Paul, McCollum, Jordan, and Lillard, along with Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony, Ken Griffrey Jr., Travis Kelce, Angel Coughtry, Vernon Davis, A.J. Andrews, and De’Aaron Fox.
The network includes programming surrounding the on-the-field as well as off-the-field lives of professional athletes and their lifestyles.
