When Can You Stream ‘Boy Kills World’ on STARZ?
The distribution duties for “Boy Kills World” are being shared by Lionsgate and Roadside Productions, 43% of which is also owned by Lionsgate. That means the movie will stream on STARZ once Lionsgate is satisfied the movie has made as much as it can from ticket sales and digital rentals/purchases on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms.
That points to the likelihood that “Boy Kills World” won’t be available to stream on-demand with STARZ for quite some time. Lionsgate firmly believes in allowing its films to stay in theaters and on PVOD platforms for as long as possible to make as much money as they can, and it’s not likely to break that pattern for “Boy Kills World.”
“John Wick: Chapter 4,” which is thematically similar to “Boy Kills World” with its big-time action scenes and bloody revenge themes came out in theaters in March 2023, but did not stream on STARZ until September, 186 days later. The studio’s new action movie “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” is unlikely to stream on STARZ until 175 days after its theatrical debut.
The Streamable predicts that “Boy Kills World” will reach theaters 175 days after its theatrical premiere, as well. That will lead it to STARZ on Friday, October 18, a good way to sidestep the glut of new horror movies that hit various streaming platforms around that time of year.
