ESPN to Present 2 ‘Monday Night Football’ Games Simultaneously in Week 14; ManningCast to Accompany Both Games

ESPN+ subscribers will get to watch Peyton and Eli Manning try to keep track of two games at once for the special edition of “MNF.”

ESPN’s Monday night party is about to get more crowded! The network has announced that for the first time ever, it will offer two “Monday Night Football” games simultaneously on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN+. The games are scheduled for Week 14, and will both begin Monday, Dec. 11 at 8:15 p.m. ET.

  • The Green Bay Packers will visit the New York Giants in one of the games, while the other will feature the Tennessee Titans traveling to the Miami Dolphins.
  • “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” will be covering both games at the same time on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
  • ESPN+ is also preparing to host a wildcard playoff game once the 2023 NFL season concludes.

A Monday Night Twofer

This special edition of “Monday Night Football” will feature two games with playoff implications. The Green Bay Packers are trying to work their way into Wild Card contention, while the Miami Dolphins are playing to keep ahold of the AFC’s top overall seed and secure a bye week for the first round of the postseason.

Packers-Giants will be on ABC and will be hosted by the main “MNF” crew of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Lisa Salters. ESPN will host the Titans-Dolphins tilt, and Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick and Laura Rutledge will handle calling the game and analysis duties.

Both games will be available to stream on ESPN+, where fans can watch Peyton and Eli Manning trying to keep track of both at once. All the customary ManningCast guests will be in attendance, and the brothers will switch their focus to a single game when the action on the screen dictates.

What Other NFL Content is Coming to ESPN+ in the Future?

ESPN+ will also get simultaneous coverage of ESPN’s Super Wild Card Monday Night game on Jan. 15, after the NFL regular season ends. This will be the third consecutive season that a Monday Night wild card game will be available to watch on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN+.

The future could hold even more NFL access for ESPN streaming products. The channel intends to launch a streaming version of itself without the need for a cable subscription by 2025, and reports indicate ESPN has discussed partnering with the NFL and importing all games now available on NFL+ to the new streaming service. That arrangement is still a few years away if it happens at all, but until then ESPN will continue to innovate the ways that it offers “Monday Night Football” games, as its latest announcement demonstrates.
