About the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards
This year, winners will be announced in 32 categories, including Best Original Anime, Best Animation, and the coveted Anime of the Year. This year’s nominees for the top prize include “BOCCHI THE ROCK!,” “Chainsaw Man,” “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith” Village Arc, “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 2, and “Vinland Saga” Season 2.
In addition to the main awards, celebrity presenters will announce winners of multiple fan-favorite awards during the Anime Awards pre-show. This year’s judging panel was made up of more than 100 international anime experts, journalists, and fans, the biggest-ever voting body for the annual ceremony.
This year’s presenters will include international celebrities and artists across the entertainment industry who share a mutual love of anime, including Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion, “The Marvels” star Iman Vellani, “RuPaul's Drag Race” Season 10 winner Aquaria, Japanese night club host/entrepreneur/TV personality, and more.
The global live stream will be available to watch on March 2 on Crunchyroll’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. For viewers in the United States, prepare to set your alarm early if you’re on the East Coast or stay up late if you’re on the West: the livestream will begin at 6 p.m. JST time, or 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT.
But if both your sleep and the ceremony are equally important to you and you’re willing to wait a little later to tune in (or if you want to relive the excitement a second time around), you’ll be able to stream reruns beginning on Saturday, March 16, on the Crunchyroll Channel via FreeVee, The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, VIZIO WatchFree+, and LG Channels.
