Colorado faced its biggest test of the season last week against the Oregon Ducks and was humbled after taking the nation by storm during the first three weeks. The son of the head coach, Shedeur has thrown for 1,410 yards, 11 touchdowns and one interception. He entered last week’s game averaging more than 400 yards through the air but was able to throw for just 159 in the loss in addition to being sacked seven times. Four players have multiple touchdown receptions, although star wideout/defensive back Travis Hunter will miss this game with an injury suffered two weeks ago.
The Trojans and coach Lincoln Riley entered the season with national championship hopes and the defending Heisman Trophy winner in quarterback Caleb Williams. All they have done since is be the top-scoring team in the nation at 55 points per game. Williams has thrown for 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns, while transfer MarShawn Lloyd leads the run game with 349 yards and two scores. Tahj Washington has 10 receptions for 278 yards, with four of those catches going for touchdowns. On defense, the Trojans have caused just six turnovers, but they are adept at getting to the quarterback with 16 sacks.
