About Eddie Murphy's ‘Candy Cane Lane’

“Candy Cane Lane” follows Chris (Eddie Murphy) as he desperately tries to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest. But after he makes a deal with an elf, Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances, she puts a magic spell in place that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life. As you can imagine, hilarious holiday mayhem ensues!

In addition to Murphy and Bell, the film also stars Tracee Ellis Ross, Ken Marino, and Nick Offerman. The movie is inspired by screenwriter Kelly Younger’s own childhood holiday experiences on Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo, California; whether or not a real-life elf was involved has not been disclosed.

Produced in part by Ron Howard and Eddie Murphy, Candy Cane Lane reunites director Reginald Hudlin, Murphy, and producer Brian Grazer for the first time since the hit 1992 movie “Boomerang.”
