The Cougars sit as nearly two-touchdown favorites despite being in the midst of a four-game losing streak. They do have a pair of wins against ranked teams earlier in the season, however. Stanford, on the other side, has not struck fear in too many teams. The Cardinal do own a two-overtime win against Colorado, though. These teams sit on the bottom of the Pac-12 standings, so they take the field with something to prove.

Washington State’s offense is centered around quarterback Cameron Ward, who has put up gaudy numbers and proven to be an effective runner as well. He’s accounted for 21 total touchdowns, while receiver Kyle Williams has big-play potential on the outside with 46 catches for 626 yards and four touchdowns. Lincoln Victor (573 yards, four touchdowns) and Josh Kelly (475 yards, 5 TDs) are two other names who figure prominently in the Cougars’ offense.

Stanford’s defense has been the biggest detriment this season, but not much was expected after last year’s 3-9 campaign that included just one conference victory. Elic Ayomanor has been a bright spot on offense with 45 catches for 737 yards and 5 touchdowns. In the Cardinal’s win over the Colorado Buffaloes, he had 13 catches for 294 yards and three scores. On defense, Stanford needs to force more turnovers (just five thus far) and get more pressure (17 sacks total).

Cameron Ward has been effective under center, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes and throwing 16 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He has gone over the 400-yard mark three times this season, and also led the Cougars in rushing in four games as well.

Ashton Daniels has dealt with some injuries this season, but when on the field has been effective in leading a young Cardinal team. He had thrown a pair of 300-yard games, and also has two running touchdowns.
