Hulu + Live TV Adds Great American Family in Time for Most Great American Christmas Movies

Now Hulu + live TV subscribers can catch the second half of 2023’a Great American Christmas premieres live.

Hulu + Live TV has added Great American Family in the midst of its annual Christmas programming slate.

It looks like Christmas came early for Hulu + Live TV subscribers as the Disney-owned live TV streaming service has added cable network Great American Family to its channel lineup with half of its annual holiday originals slate still to come. This year’s installment of Great American Christmas is scheduled to run through Dec. 23 with at least two new original movies premiering every weekend.

  • Hulu + Live TV has added the fastest-growing cable network to its service during the channel’s peak seasons.
  • Great American Family is premiering 20 original films this season, and even though 10 have already premiered, you can catch them when they reair throughout the holidays.
  • GAF joins the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Hallmark Drama on Hulu + Live TV.

“On Nov. 16, the Great American Family channel moved from the Hulu + Live TV Entertainment Add-On to Hulu’s standard Live TV subscription plan,” and NBCUniversal spokesperson told The Streamable, “meaning that subscribers have access to the Great American Family channel through their base Live TV subscription plan.”

With the addition of Great American Family, Hulu + Live TV’s base channel lineup can now boast a fairly full slate of cable channels that air original holiday movies this time of year. GAF joins the Hallmark Channel, [Hallmark Movies & Mysteries], Lifetime, OWN, and more in providing fans of the familiar, cozy cliches of cable holiday rom-coms with as many viewing options as they could possibly want or need.

That means, in addition to Great American Family and Hallmark holiday movies, you will also be able to stream the new Christmas movie “Dashing Through the Snow” and Season 2 of “The Santa Clauses” — not to mention all of the other family-friendly holiday fare on Disney+ as well.

What Is the Best and Cheapest Way to Stream Great American Family and Hallmark Christmas Movies?

Despite the flAs mentioned above, if you are exclusively searching for a way to stream GAF and Hallmark’s Christmas programming, then Frndly TV is the best option. After a seven-day free trial, a monthly subscription will only cost as little as $7.99. Admittedly, the reason that the service is able to keep the price so low is because it only offers a limited number of channels. So, if you need a little more on your streaming lineup, Philo might be the one to go with. Like Frndly, it does not have local, sports, or news channels, but it does come with 18 of the 35 top cable channels, while Frndly only has four. Both services have a one-week free trial, but Philo runs $25 per month.

The cheapest option to consider which includes both Great American Family and Hallmark, and has major broadcast networks and sports and news channels, is Sling TV. While the service does not offer a free trial, if you combine the service’s two base packages, you can get up to 27 of the top 35 cable channels. However, you would have to upgrade to the Heartland Extra package for an extra $6 per month to get Great American Family and the Lifestyle Extra package — also an extra $6 — to get Hallmark. Sling is currently offering a 50% discount on your first month of service, so if you time it right, you could get just about half of Great American Christmas and Countdown to Christmas for $39.50.
