New Bundle of AMC+, Netflix Arriving Now for Select Verizon Wireless Customers

Netflix and AMC+ are used to doing business together. A long string of licensing agreements has allowed popular AMC titles like “The Walking Dead” and “Breaking Bad” to stream on Netflix, but the two companies are drawing even closer. This week, Verizon announced that it would be offering some customers the chance to sign up for a bundle of ad-free Netflix Premium with AMC+ at a discounted price.

• The new Netflix/AMC+ bundle will cost $25.99 per month, a $5.99 monthly savings.
• The deal will be available between Feb. 28 and March 31.
• Verizon myPlan subscribers who sign up for the digital +play platform can get an extra $5 off the bundle.

For a limited time, customers who combine select Verizon 5G mobile plans with certain home internet plans can bundle Netflix Premium (normally $22.99 per month) with ad-free AMC+ (normally $8.99 per month) for $25.99, saving them $5.99 per month ($72 per year). Subscribers with questions about the eligibility of their plans should contact Verizon to see if they can get the new bundle before March 31, when the offer will expire.

Customers who are subscribed to a Verizon myPlan can get even more savings on the bundle if they sign up for the monthly +play perk. Doing so would drop the price of the bundle by a further $5 per month, which would make its total price (now $20.99 per month) cheaper than subscribing to Netflix Premium without AMC+.

Verizon has offered a similar bundle of STARZ and Netflix Premium in its +play store before, and has provided several other deals involving Netflix as well. Verizon myPlan subscribers can also sign up for a bundle of ad-supported plans of Netflix and Max for $9.99 per month, a savings of $6.99 over the separate prices of the two services.

Will Verizon Become the Go-To Destination for Streaming Bundles?

Streaming services seem increasingly willing to trust mobile phone providers to bundle their platforms with competing streamers. Companies with streaming services have been hesitant to bundle with competitors directly, as they’re wary of unwittingly driving viewers away from their streamers and toward the service they’re bundled with.

If mobile providers like Verizon are able to increase the amount of streaming bundles they offer, it would certainly fall in line with what consumers want. A recent survey from Bango found that 50% of respondents wanted their mobile providers to manage their subscriptions, versus just 29% who preferred having their cable companies do so. Unified platforms like the Verizon +play store allow viewers to keep all their streaming services on one monthly bill, and bundles afford the opportunity to access multiple streamers at a discount.

The Streamable has speculated in the past that AMC could be an acquisition target for Netflix, and the relationship between the two companies is taking another step forward with this new bundle of AMC+ and Netflix Premium for select Verizon customers. Whether the new bundle leads to a merger of AMC with Netflix remains to be seen, but until then (or at least, until March 31) Verizon subscribers can save $5.99 per month by purchasing the two services together.
