Fallout’ | April 12, 2024

Set in a retrofuturistic alternate history, “Fallout” shows a world in the wake of a cataclysmic nuclear exchange. Some of humanity’s survivors have taken shelter in enormous fallout bunkers termed “Vaults,” and hid there for hundreds of years.

Two centuries after the United States became a nuclear wasteland, one of the descendants of an original Vault inhabitant decides to leave the safety of the bunker and head out into post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. She’ll find excitement and adventure there, along with dangers she could not possibly comprehend. This series, based on the incredibly popular video game franchise will make for an extremely ambitious adaptation, and fans are already buzzing about the show’s potential.

Road House’ | March 21, 2024

A Patrick Swayze classic is getting the remake treatment from Amazon this year. Swayze’s version of “Road House” came out in 1989, and just in time for its 35th anniversary, Prime Video will debut a new version featuring Jake Gyllenhaal alongside UFC superstar Connor McGregor.

The movie follows the tale of Elwood Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter who used to be one of the best on the circuit. But life is what happens when you’ve made other plans, and Dalton finds himself employed by a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. Sure it’s a hole-in-the-wall, but in this house, things aren’t always what they seem.

‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ | Feb. 2, 2024

Based on the 2005 film, this comedy series will pick up on the stories of John and Jane Smith, international super-spies. Out are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, in are Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, with Michaela Coel, John Turturro, Paul Dano, Parker Posey, and Wagner Moura also set to star.

John and Jane have shed their masked identities and decided to team up, in marriage and in the game of international espionage. Each episode will follow the couple on a new mission, and even when things get their hardest, there’s no way the Smiths will crumble under pressure. Right?

The Underdoggs’ | Jan. 26. 2024

This original comedy movie will star Snoop Dogg as Jaycen Jennings, an ex-NFL player who wants to revitalize his career…and stay out of prison. Accepting a plea agreement to accomplish the latter goal, he finds himself coaching a youth football team, only to realize the kids are a much bigger handful than he bargained for.

The premise of this movie seems funny enough, but securing Snoop Dogg in the lead role vaults it to must-see territory in our view. Mike Epps and George Lopez also appear in the film, if somehow the storyline and star don’t point obviously enough to hilarity.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2 | TBD 2024

This newest adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved works released its first season in 2022. High production values, complex battle scenes, and demanding sets and locations have pushed the release of its newest season until the upcoming year, but the wait won’t keep fans away.

With the Three Rings of the Elves now forged, Season 2 of the series will center on the creation of the other Rings of Power. How will Sauron influence their creation now that his identity has been revealed? What will he do to assert his rule in Mordor, and what will happen to Nori, Poppy, and the Stranger in their journey to the East? Not all that glitters is gold, and not all who wander are lost…
