Netflix Announces “Cobra Kai” Final Season Premiere Date

Wax off. Netflix has announced the premiere date for the sixth and final season of the “Karate Kid” sequel series “Cobra Kai,” starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. The martial arts dramedy will conclude its run with a three-part final season, with the first part premiering on Thursday, July 18.

Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, Season 6 will follow the senseis and students as they decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate.

The series, which initially began on YouTube Premium (then-YouTube Red), Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, and more.

The second half of “Cobra Kai” Season 6 will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 28, followed by the series finale in 2025 with an official date to be announced later.


“Emily in Paris” Gets Two-Part Season 4

It’s time to book your return flight for “Emily in Paris!” In a new cast video, Netflix has announced the premiere dates for the upcoming two-part fourth season of the original series starring Lily Collins.

According to the official description, Season 4 will follow Emily (Collins) after Camille (Camille Razat) and Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) dramatic and misbegotten wedding as she tries to work through her feelings for both Gabriel and Alfrie (Lucien Laviscount) and try to get Gabriel the Michelin star he’s been dreaming of. Meanwhile, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past, and Mindy (Ashley Park) and the band prepare for Eurovision.

Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie also star in the romantic-dramedy with Kate Walsh, Jeremy O. Harris, Céline Menville, Kevin Dias, and more.

Part One of “Emily in Paris” Season 4 will premiere its first batch on Thursday, Aug. 15, followed by the following episodes on Sept. 12.


Disney+ Celebrates Mother’s Day With New “The Simpsons” Short

Disney+ is celebrating mom’s special day with the mother of crossover events.

The streamer has announced, “May the 12th Be With You,” a new short from “The Simpsons,” will launch exclusively on Disney+ on Friday, May 10.

In the short, per the official description, “it’s Mother’s Day and Marge Simpson joins the moms of Disney+ on a special holiday outing that turns into an epic galactic adventure filled with heroes, villains, and a surprising old friend.”

The new promo is the latest “Simpsons” short created exclusively for Disney+, following 2024 Webby Winner “Maggie Simpson in 'Rogue Not Quite One'” the Emmy-nominated “When Billie Met Lisa,” and others.


“The Great American Baking Show” Season 2 Trailer Out Now

Welcome back to the tent, bakers! The Roku Channel has released the trailer for the upcoming second season of “The Great American Baking Show.”

Once again hosted by Zach Cherry and Casey Wilson, the American adaptation of “The Great British Bake-Off” welcomes America’s best amateur bakers to the iconic white tent, where they’ll need to wow famed judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to become the next “Baking Show” champion.

Peacock Releases “We Are Lady Parts” Season 2 Trailer

The band is back together! Peacock has released the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the critically acclaimed “We Are Lady Parts.”

Created, written, and directed by Nida Manzoor, the Brit-com follows an all-female Muslim punk band in the United Kingdom as they navigate friendships, relationships, and cultural differences on the path to musical success. In Season 2, Lady Parts returns with new artistic goals after the high of their first U.K. tour and their impending first album, only to find a rival band threatening their status quo.

Anjana Vasan, Sarah Kameela Impey, Juliette Motamed, and Faith Omole lead the band/cast opposite Lucie Shorthouse, Aiysha Hart, Zaqi Ismail, Shobu Kapoor, David Avery, Sofia Barclay, and more. Season 2 will also feature guest stars Meera Syal and Malala Yousafzai.

The six-episode second season will premiere in full on Tuesday, May 30, on Peacock.


Roku Greenlights “Best Bite Wins” and “The Arch Project”

Two new unscripted projects are on their way to the Roku Channel. Roku has announced the greenlight of “Best Bite Wins,” an original food competition series hosted by Josh Peck. The new six-episode series is described as a “celebration of entertaining, passing apps and eating together” as professional chefs compete to present the best party food to hungry judges and clients at real events, from birthday parties to retirement celebrations and everything in between. Special event chefs will also serve as the series’ culinary experts.

Additionally, Roku has announced the upcoming docuseries “The Arch Project” (working title), helmed by longtime friends, collaborators, and ARCH Motorcycle co-founders Gard Hollinger and Keanu Reeves.

The new project will follow Hollinger and Reeves on their quest to find the answer to the question: Where do human creativity and ingenuity come from? The pair together will “find and explore the stories of those whose ideas and achievements they admire…and learn how their unique views help fuel these mavericks to shape and change the world and hopefully find some answers to that never-ending question.”

Both titles will be available on the Roku Channel. Premiere dates for both series will be announced at a later time.


NBCUniversal and Roku Debut Launch of NBC Olympic Zone

NBCUniversal and Roku have begun warming up for this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris and are making it easier to stay in the know with all of the Games’ events with the NBC Olympic Zone.

Through the Roku Home Screen Menu, users will be able to easily access and explore Peacock’s comprehensive coverage of the Games, providing seamless access to more than 5,000 hours of live events and NBC programming. The NBC Olympic Zone on Roku will also feature a replay row, clips, highlight reels, curated content for live and upcoming programming, sports organized by type, event recaps, and much more.

NBCUniversal owns the U.S. media rights to the Olympic Games through 2032, meaning all events through 2032’s Summer Games in Brisbane will be accessible through NBCUniversal brands. As previously announced, NBC and Peacock will be the company’s primary platforms for coverage at this year’s competition.

The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are scheduled for July 26-Aug. 11.


Sports, Music, and More Arrive on Samsung TV Plus

Samsung TV Plus is adding a little something for everybody. The streamer has announced several new premium partnerships across the worlds of sports, music, gaming, and more.

First joining the platform is a suite of major league FAST channels delivering live sports from MLB, the PGA Tour, the American Hockey League (AHL), and ONEChampionship (MMA) as well as Formula 1’s first FAST channel. The new offerings include:

  • MLB: weekly game replay, Minor league game replays, and game recaps, among other content exclusives to come later in the season
  • PGA Tour: total coverage on all things PGA Tour, with behind-the-scenes programming, documentaries, tournament recaps, highlights, competitions, and more
  • AHL: the first FAST platform to air live American Hockey League games through the Los Angeles Kings affiliate, the Ontario Reign
  • Formula 1: the first FAST channel for Formula 1 and the ultimate destination for fans to catch up on all the action from F1, F2, F3, and F1 Academy races throughout the season, including analysis, replays, and documentaries
  • ONE Championship TV: combat sports content, including unique live events, highlights, series, and behind-the-scenes access from the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Samsung TV Plus also announced an exclusive partnership with Warner Music, joining the streamer’s recently launched dedicated Music destination featuring nearly 500 existing and premium national and local channels and featuring exclusive music playlists such as:

  • The Drop: a video-on-demand playlist tied to the launch of new album releases and featuring artist career retrospectives, behind-the-scenes content, interviews, premiere, and new album content.
  • Artist Odyssey: a chronological journey through a select Warner Music artist’s catalog with never-before-heard stories told through firsthand accounts from friends, video directors, label heads, artist managers, fans, and sometimes the artists themselves

Finally, Samsung will also expand its games offerings with new interactive gaming experiences during ad breaks. Later this year, Samsung will soon roll two games, “Rivals Arena” and “The Six,” which users will be able to play without a controller.
