Marvel’s “What If…?” Season 2 Gets Trailer and Premiere Date

The Watcher will be watched once more. Disney+ has released the official trailer and announced the premiere date of “What If…?,” with the Marvel Studios animated multiverse series set to return on Dec. 22. The streamer will release a new episode each of the next nine nights.

The first animated series from Marvel Studios Animation and based on the comic series of the same name, “What If…?” explores alternate timelines in the multiverse that show what would happen if major moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe occurred differently.

Jeffrey Wright narrates the series as The Watcher with more than 50 MCU actors reprising their roles in the voice cast during the first season, including Tom Hiddleston, Danai Gurira, and the late Chadwick Boseman. Season 2 will feature fan-favorite characters, including Nebula, Hela, and Happy Hogan.


Max Renews “Harley Quinn”

Harley’s hijinks will continue at Max! Following another critically acclaimed season, the streamer has renewed its hit Original adult-animated series “Harley Quinn” for a fifth.

Kaley Cuoco leads the voice cast as the supervillain, who, after her breakup with The Joker, strikes out on her own to create a ragtag crew of DC castoffs and find her place in Gotham City. As Harley moves from sidekick girlfriend to leading lady, the series also explores her relationship with Poison Ivy (voiced by Lake Bell), her path from antihero to hero, and the individual stories of Quinn’s crew.

The voice cast also includes Christopher Meloni, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Tony Hale, Alan Tudyk, Jason Alexander, and others.


Tubi Adds Classic “Doctor Who” Episodes

It’s a big year for “Doctor Who,” as the beloved British sci-fi series celebrates its 60th anniversary with the arrival of a new Doctor reincarnation and three highly anticipated episodic specials. And to mark the big 6-0, Tubi has brought all available episodes of Classic Who, the original, pre-revival run between 1963–1989, to its platform to stream for free!

The two-and-a-half decades’ worth of episodes were previously only available to watch on BritBox’s paid subscription. Now on the free Tubi, Whovians new and old can watch not just the classic episodes but also “Classic Doctor Who: The Animated Lost Stories,” which includes animated reenactments of live-action episodes lost to time. All episodes will be available to watch on a dedicated FAST channel, as well as on demand.

The full anniversary specials, which will see the highly anticipated returns of David Tennant and Catherine Tate, will be available to watch on BBC One in the United Kingdom and Ireland and on Disney+ for international viewers. (There is also a five-minute supplement episode, “Destination: Skaro,” available to stream as of Nov. 17.) The first of the three, “The Star Beast,” will air on Nov. 25.


“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” Sets Premiere Date

After multiple pushbacks, delays, and vague premiere timelines, Prime Video has given an official premiere date for its highly anticipated “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” series.

The eight-episode series, which will star Donald Glover as John and Maya Erskine as Jane, will debut in full on Feb. 2. Described as a reimagining of the 2005 film of the same name that starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” follows strangers John and Jane, who have given up their identities to be thrown together as partners in both espionage and in marriage. Matched by a mysterious agency, each episode follows them on a new mission and new milestone in their relationship. But when the cracks begin to show through, they must fight to stay together because divorce is not an option… literally.

The all-star ensemble will also feature Michaela Coel, Paul Dano, Wagner Moura, Parker Posey, John Turturro, and more.


“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Releases New Trailer

Disney+ released a new trailer its highly anticipated original series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” adapted from Rick Riordan’s book series.

Walker Scobell leads the series as the title tween, a modern demigod who is just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jefferies), Percy embarks on the adventure of a lifetime.

The series will also star Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy with guest appearances from Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Olivea Morton, Jay Duplass, Timothy Omundson, and the late Lance Reddick.

The epic eight-episode series launches with a two-episode premiere on Dec. 20, on Disney+, followed by new episodes weekly.
