With a premiere-heavy March ahead at HBO, there will be plenty to stream this month on Max!

The first Sunday of March brings the premiere of HBO’s new six-episode limited series “The Regime,” starring HBO alum Kate Winslet. Throughout the rest of the month, don’t rest on the streamer’s long list of library additions, like the recent musical origin story “Wonka” or A24’s sleeper hit (so to speak) “Dream Scenario”; and be sure some of the HBO’s biggest premieres, including “The Girls on the Bus” starring Melissa Benoist and Ramy Youssef’s “More Feelings” make it onto your calendar.

Plus, there’s no March without March Madness! The Regime” | Sunday, March 3

Emmy winner Kate Winslet (“Mare of Easttown”) returns to HBO for the all-new miniseries, which takes place over the course of a year as a modern authoritarian regime crumbles from the inside out. Per the official description, Winslet plays Chancellor Elena Vernham, who after not leaving the palace for quite some time, grows increasingly paranoid and unstable, when she turns to volatile soldier Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts) as an unlikely confidant. “As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor grows, Elena’s attempts to expand her power eventually result in the palace and the country fracturing around her.” The six-episode limited series also Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, and Hugh Grant. A new episode will be released every week through its premiere on April 7.

The Girls on the Bus” | Thursday, March 14

Hit the campaign trail in the all-new political drama series inspired by Amy Chozick’s 2018 memoir “Chasing Hilary.” Melissa Benoist stars as Sadie McCarthy, a journalist who longs for the bygone era of campaign reporting and scraps her whole life at a shot at covering a presidential candidate for a paper of record. With three fellow female journalists and competitors, Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore), the four reporters become found family on the literal road to the White House.

Dream Scenario” | Friday, March 15

A24’s latest hit clocked a 91% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes despite getting shut out of all major awards in this year’s already tight race. Nicolas Cage stars as the man of everybody’s dreams: Paul Matthews, a hapless family man whose life is turned upside down when millions of strangers begin to see him in their dreams, launching him into stardom until his and everybody else’s dreams become a collective nightmare. The ensemble cast of the black comedy also features Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, and Lily Bird.

Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show” | Friday, March 29

After three full comedy specials at the cabler (“Love at the Store,” “8,” and most recently 2022’s “Rothaniel”), Jerrod Carmichael’s life goes on display in a brand-new way. The comedy docuseries follows “Poor Things” star Carmichael on encounters with real-life friends, families, and strangers on his lifelong quest for love, sex, and connection.


“Ramy Youssef: More Feelings” | Date TBD

Ramy Youssef is not done expressing himself. The Emmy nominee (and the second “Poor Things” comedy actor with a new project this month) returns to HBO for an all-new standup special from A24, a follow-up to his pre-pandemic special “Feelings.” Directed by Christopher Storer and taped at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey, this past Feb. 2 and 3, the forthcoming special is expected to premiere this month with a date to be announced in the coming weeks.

King Kong
