Top Titles Coming to BritBox in July 2024: ‘Killing Eve,’ ‘The Responder’ Season 2, More

Grace” Season 4 | Tuesday, July 2

Doctor Who” and “Life on Mars” star John Simm leads the cast of ITV’s series adaptation of Peter James’s Roy Grace novels playing the “talented yet haunted” detective superintendent, who has hit rock bottom following the disappearance of his wife Sandy years before. The series has so far also starred Richie Campbell, Rakie Ayola, James D’Arcy, Same Hoare, Craig Parkinson, Laura Elphinstone, Brad Morrison, Amaka Okafor, Zoe Taper, and Claire Calbraith, among others, but after Season 3’s explosive finale, not all will be returning for the fourth season.

The Responder” Season 2 Premiere | Thursday, July 11

The critically acclaimed Martin Freeman-led police drama series returns to BritBox for its Season 2 streaming premiere after wrapping up its second-season BBC One run. Freeman plays Chris Carson, a once-inspector whose childhood trauma and rage showed up on the job and has been demoted and tasked with working a series of urgent response night shifts where his survival is dependent on a rookie partner, a heroin addict, and his own work in therapy.

The series, which holds a 100% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes for both seasons, also stars Adelayo Adedayo, Warren Brown, MyAnna Buring, Emily Fairn, Josh Finan, Philip S. McGuinness, Mark Womack, Ian Hart, and others. New episodes will stream weekly through Aug. 8.

Killing Eve” Seasons 1–2 | Tuesday, July 16 + 23

The 21-time Emmy-nominated BBC America and BBC Three series brings its first two seasons to BritBox this month, with Season 1 premiering on July 16 and Season 2 arriving on July 23. Based on the graphic novel series “Villanelle,” the espionage thriller stars Sandra Oh as Eve Polastri, an MI6 intelligence investigator on the hunt for the brilliant but psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer, who took home the series’ only Emmy win in 2019 as Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series), and the pair become mutually obsessive, leading them on a cross-continental cat-and-cat chase.

Fleabag” creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge served as head writer for the first season, with Emerald Fennell (“Saltburn”) taking over in Season 2. Kim Bodnia, Sean Delaney, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Owen McDonnell, Fiona Shaw, Darren Boyd, David Haig, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Nina Sosanya, Edward Bluemel, Adrian Scarborough, and more round out the early-seasons cast
