YouTube TV Expands Nationwide in Time for Super Bowl

This morning YouTube TV announced that the Live TV Streaming Service is available throughout the United States, expanding into 95 new markets.

When it launched in April 2017, YouTube TV was only available in five U.S. cities. Over the past year, it has expanded to 85% of households adding their 100th market in August. With today’s addition of 95 additional markets, the Live TV Streaming Service will now reach 98% of households. The final 15 markets will soon follow. Right now, YouTube TV has no plans to expand internationally.

This additional markets comes just in time to allow users to stream the Super Bowl LIII on Feb. 3. Local CBS stations are available in every market YouTube TV is available.

In the past, YouTube TV has only rolled out new markets when local ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS affiliates could be available on the service. With the new markets, the four broadcast networks are available in 90%+ of markets, with at least three in the rest.

For $40 per month, users get access to local channels, 19 of the Top 35 Cable Channels, and Regional Sports Networks. You can stream on most major devices with the exception being Amazon Fire TV. You can see a full list of channels and markets here.
