Missed an Episode? Prime Video’s X-Ray Recaps Help You Get Caught Up
X-Ray Recaps will use generative AI to help viewers catch up on an episode, season or show without worrying about spoilers.
Obviously, the best way to get caught up on a TV series you’re a few episodes behind on is to go back and watch. But we don’t live in a perfect world; people have lives and responsibilities, and that doesn’t always leave time for viewers to go back and watch every episode of a show to get caught up. Prime Video knows that which is why it has announced the release of its new “X-Ray Recaps” feature, allowing viewers to catch up to exactly the point they need to in a given show.
Key Details:
- X-Ray Recaps uses generative AI to create synopses for TV episodes, shows, and seasons.
- Customers can choose to recap up to a specific point in a single episode if they choose and expand from there.
- Recaps are easily accessed from the X-Ray interface.
The new X-Ray Recaps feature is coming to Fire TV customers as a beta test now, with additional devices to be supported by the end of 2024.
The feature lets viewers catch up with a quick text recap of any point in a TV show they choose. X-Ray Recaps come with multiple options; customers can choose to recap up to the second at which they paused the show, read information about the entire show up to that point, or learn what has happened in past seasons.
It’s an excellent way to get all the information you need on a show without having to worry about reading spoilers or being forced to watch something you’ve already seen before. Using generative AI, X-Ray Recaps creates simple-to-read summaries down to the exact minute they choose.
Prime Video’s X-Ray Recap makes it far easier to catch up on a TV series without spoiling anything.
“Prime Video product and technology teams work relentlessly behind the scenes to enhance customers’ viewing experience, and with the creation of X-Ray Recaps, we’re directly addressing a common problem customers face when streaming content: forgetting where they left off,” said Adam Gray, VP of product at Prime Video. “With this context-aware functionality, Prime Video will deliver summaries of memorable moments and important plot points so our customers can quickly jump back into what they were watching or rediscover why they fell in love with a series in the first place.”
Viewers with a Fire TV device who want to test out X-Ray Recaps now can launch it any time from the Prime Video detail page, or during playback by calling up the X-Ray interface. Once there, you can decide which type of recap you want to see.
