Which Roku Devices Can Use Fubo’s Multiview Feature?
Five models of Roku streaming player can use Fubo’s multiview in at least a limited capacity.
Fubo has long offered customers the ability to watch multiple sports games at once using a multiview function, but only on [Aple TV] devices. Last week, the company announced it was making some big changes to multiview; not only was it launching a fully customizable multiview option for connected TV watchers, but it was launching on Roku, the most popular streaming device in the United States. Only a limited list of Roku streaming players are compatible with Fubo’s multiview as of now, but The Streamable is now able to confirm which devices those are, and if more are coming in the future.
Key Details:
- Roku Express 4K, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and Roku Ultra models are the devices that support at least some multiview functionality.
- Fubo and Roku pledge that more Roku devices with four-stream ability are coming soon.
- All the compatible Roku streaming devices can be purchased on Amazon or other online retailers.
When Roku and Fubo announced that they were collaborating on rolling out Fubo’s multiview feature, a full list of Roku devices that would work with multiview was not available. The Streamable reached out to Roku and Fubo last week to see if we could obtain that list, and the results are in the table below.
It’s important to note that even though these devices can use multiview, not all can do a full, four-screen multiview experience. Most will only allow viewers to stream up to two channels at once. The good news is that Fubo subscribers can pick whichever channels they want to make up their multiview for a truly customizable watching session.
Roku Device | Number of Streams per Multiview |
Price |
---|---|---|
Roku Ultra | 4 | $100 |
Roku Express 4K | 2 | $30 |
Roku Express 4K+ | 2 | $39 |
Roku Streaming Stick 4K | 2 | $50 |
Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ | 2 | $50 |
All of the Roku models that now offer Fubo’s multiview feature are available from between $39 and $100. The Roku Ultra is the only player that can currently offer four multiview streams; this is hardly surprising considering its larger processor, which makes it 30% faster than any other Roku player.
Fubo’s new multiview experience on Roku looks far superior to multiview on YouTube TV, at least so far. It allows users to customize which channels are offered without leaving the multiview screen, rearrange which boxes are in which corner, zoom to full screen on a single channel at will, and more.
