Crunchyroll becomes available on YouTube TV Primetime Channels

American customers can now aggregate their Crunchyroll subscription with other streamers through YouTube TV Primetime Channels.

Customers of YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels digital store now have a new subscription option to enjoy. The anime streaming service Crunchyroll can now be found on Primetime Channels, unlocking tens of thousands of episodes and movies, and allowing viewers to aggregate their subscriptions and keep them all in a single place instead of scattered about.

Key Details:

  • YouTube TV and Crunchyroll first announced their partnership in October.
  • Highlights of Crunchyroll include “Solo Leveling” Season 2 and “Dragon Ball DAIMA.”
  • The streamer recently launched on Roku and is also available on Xfinity and Xumo devices now.

YouTube TV and Crunchyroll first announced that the streaming service would be coming to the Primetime Channels platform in October. Customers can now sign up for Crunchyroll on Primetime Channels in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.

Crunchyroll specializes in anime and offers both subtitled and overdubbed versions of a huge selection of shows. It offers 25,000 hours of content and 50,000 episodes across more than 2,000 titles, making it an absolutely indispensable addition to every anime fan’s streaming collection. Highlights of the winter season include “Solo Leveling” and “Dragon Ball DAIMA.”

Crunchyroll has taken great strides in increasing its distribution in recent months. In December, the streamer became available on The Roku Channel, meaning viewers with Roku devices could sign up through that platform and aggregate their subscription with the rest of their Roku streaming service accounts.

Also in December, the Crunchyroll app rolled out on Xumo and Xfinity streaming devices and TVs. That allows owners of those devices to watch the streamer without a connected streaming player, making it a more convenient viewing experience for all concerned.

Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is a subscription video streaming service catering to fans of anime with over 30,000 episodes. Viewers can see new episodes of shows one hour after they air in Japan, and read hundreds of chapters across dozens of manga titles. Some of their more popular titles are Dragon Ball Super, Attack on Titan, and Fire Force.

Crunchyroll offers three plans. The “Fan” ($7.99) plan allows streaming on 1 device, but no offline viewing. Their “Mega Fan” ($11.99) plan allows viewing on 4 devices along with offline viewing. And the “Ultimate Fan” ($15.99) plan offers viewing on 6 devices, offline viewing, and an annual swag bag, among other perks.
