Can You Watch The 2024 MLB Season on Hulu?

The 2024 MLB season is about to get underway, with all 30 teams participating in opening day on Thursday, March 28. It was a busier than usual off-season, with two clear favorites leading the pack: the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves. But only one team — the Texas Rangers — did what 30 set out to do last year: win the World Series. Can they do it again? Watch the 2024 MLB season to find out.

Hulu + Live TV is usually one of our top recommendations, but for watching the 2024 MLB Season, it’s not a great choice for two reasons: 1) it doesn’t offer MLB Network, and 2) it carries only five regional sports networks that cover baseball teams. However, the service carries most of the channels you need to watch nationally televised MLB games, including Fox, FS1, TBS, ABC, and ESPN. And with plans starting at $76.99 per month, plus access to Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu in the price - which is a $14.99 monthly value - it’s still a great pick. But if you live in your favorite MLB team’s home market, you may want to look at other services.

To watch the 2024 MLB season, you’ll need a live TV streaming service that carries Fox, FS1, TBS, ABC / ESPN, and MLB Network for nationally televised games, along with a Regional Sports Network (RSN) to catch local broadcasts. It can be hard to know which is best, but fortunately, The Streamable’s experts are here to explain your options and let you make an informed choice!

Best Ways to Stream The 2024 MLB Season

Top Choice: DIRECTV STREAM

  • Five-day free trial for all new users
  • Limited-time offer of $25 off per month for the first two months
  • The most RSNs of any service with an upgrade to the Choice package

Best Alternative: Fubo

  • Carries Fox, FS1, ABC, ESPN, and MLB Network
  • Offers RSN for 80% of MLB teams

How to Stream 2024 MLB Season

The 2024 MLB Season is airing across Fox, FS1, TBS, ABC, ESPN, and MLB Network which means only DIRECTV STREAM carries all of the needed channels to watch the nationally televised games. You’ll also need a regional sports network (RSN) to see all your local team’s games if you’re in their broadcast territory, which makes DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo great choices. If you’re out of the market for your favorite MLB team, a subscription to MLB.TV is your best choice.

Best Choice for Watching the 2024 MLB Season: DIRECTV STREAM

We love DIRECTV STREAM for streaming just about everything, and the 2024 MLB Season is no different. The service carries all the channels you need to watch nationally broadcast baseball games, and when you upgrade to the “Choice” plan ($108.99), you get the MLB Network, NBA TV, and NFL Network along with access to 25 of the 27 (no Philadelphia Phillies or Toronto Blue Jays) regional sports networks (RSNs) that carry MLB, which include Fox Sports RSNs, NBC Sports RSNs, AT&T SportsNet, MSG, NESN, Spectrum SportsNet, and Altitude. Plus, it comes with a great offer for new subscribers: $25 off per month for their first two months of service, and it also carries a five-day free trial.

Best Alternative For MLB Fans: Fubo

Fubo is great for sports fans who want to watch the 2024 MLB season, as well as other sports like the NBA and NHL, because it offers Fox, FS1, ABC, ESPN, and MLB Network, and carries regional sports networks (RSNs) for 98% of American viewers, offering local coverage for 24 MLB teams. However, the downside is that it doesn’t carry TBS in any of its regions, which means when playoff time arrives, you’ll likely want to try out a different service. Fubo offers new customers a free trial, though the length of that trial depends on what time of month you sign up for the service. Its plans start at $79.99 per month, but that doesn’t factor in the RSN fee that most viewers will have to pay.

Best Service For Watching Out-of-Market MLB Games: MLB.TV

An MLB.TV subscription allows you to watch any out-of-market MLB games not appearing on nationally broadcast channels. If you live across the country from your favorite MLB team, MLB.TV will allow you to watch dozens or hundreds of its games every year, complete with the features and bonuses that come with the platform. Fans can subscribe to watch MLB.TV and stream every out-of-market game from all teams during the year for $29.99 per month or $149.99 per season. Those who are only interested in one particular team can subscribe to a single-team plan for $129.99 per year, which is a great way to avoid paying extra for games you’re not planning on watching.

Most Customizable Choice: Sling TV

Sling TV is usually one of The Streamable’s top recommendations because it allows customers to watch high-demand cable channels on a budget. Sling’s prices start at $40 per month for its base plans, but it’s not a great way to watch the 2024 MLB Season because it doesn’t offer any RSNs.

But, it does offer ABC with the Sling Blue plan in eight major markets across the country, along with Fox in 18 major markets, while FS1 and TBS are available in all markets. You can then add MLB Network with Sling’s Sports Extra package for $11 per month, which also gets you NBA TV and the NHL Network. To get ESPN, you’ll have to also subscribe to the Sling Orange plan.

Last Option: YouTube TV

YouTube TV isn’t a bad streaming service overall, but for MLB fans, it only carries four RSNs. Plus, it doesn’t offer MLB Network at all, so it’s not a great choice for watching the 2024 MLB season. And at a monthly subscription price of $72.99, without any free streaming services bundled into the price, and without a free trial, that’s why we place it last on our list.
