Peacock’s latest prison break thriller has been ripped from actual headlines. “Bosco” tells the true story of Quawntay “Bosco” Adams, a man sentenced to 35 years in prison for attempting to possess marijuana, and premieres on Friday, Feb. 2. Determined to meet his unborn child, Adams escapes from maximum security prison and undertakes a thrilling journey. A story of triumph and loss, “Bosco” shines a light on societal injustice and the determination of a man to be with his family. You can watch Bosco with a subscription to Peacock.
About ‘Bosco’
Based on Adams’ book “Chasin’ Freedum,” which tells the tale of his desperation to meet his new daughter and the lengths he went to to achieve that goal. Adams was arrested for attempting to possess marijuana — a substance now legal for recreational use in 24 states— , and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Adams finds himself under 24-hour surveillance in a federal maximum-security prison, and his future looks bleak.
Adams also knows he has a child on the way, and the longer he sits in prison the more fully he realizes he has to be there for her birth. Enlisting the aid of a Missouri woman he meets in a personal ad, Adams breaks out of prison, setting off a chain of events that ultimately leads to his release and the writing of his book about his experiences.
The film features a fantastic cast, including Nikki Blonsky as “Tammy,” Tyrese Gibson as “Tootie,” Vivica A. Fox as “Willa,” Theo Rossi as “Ramos,” Thomas Jane as “Hunt.”
