About ‘JFK: One Day In America’ Premiere
“JFK: One Day in America” is the second installment in National Geographic’s Emmy-winning “One Day in America” franchise, following 2021’s “9/11: One Day in America.” The new entry will chronicle the events around Nov. 22, 1963, leading up to and following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The three-part landmark docuseries was made in official collaboration with The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. With exclusive permission to colorize the museum’s news footage archives for the first time, “JFK: One Day in America” combines historical records, firsthand recordings, and testimony from those on the ground in Dallas that day, including those sharing their stories for the first time, “to create an immersive, minute-by-minute examination of that pivotal day that forever changed American history.”
The three episodes, titled “Assassination,” “Manhunt,” and “Revenge,” will walk through not just the day of but also the days surrounding, including Nov. 22 when the former president arrived in Dallas; Nov. 24 when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot; and Nov. 25, the day of JFK’s funeral.
