Being a teenager is hard, especially when you are a bit of an outsider. Of course, things can only get worse if you have a massive crush on a reanimated corpse. That’s the story behind the new teen horror comedy “Lisa Frankenstein” which arrives on Peacock on Friday, March 29. Starring Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse, this unusual tale follows two lost souls on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, and a few missing body parts. You can watch with a subscription to Peacock.
About 'Lisa Frankenstein'
The feature-film directorial debut for Zelda Williams — the daughter of Robin Williams — “Lisa Frankenstein” harkens back to a time of neon, Ouija boards, and breakfast clubs. The year is 1989 and Lisa is dealing with the trauma of her mother’s murder when she suffers an attack of her own.
While hiding from the rest of the world in a cemetery, Lisa discovers a Victorian-era corpse that has been reanimated by a bolt of lightning. In each other, the pair finds someone they’ve been longing for. Their connection leads to even more dead bodies as the pair falls further in love.
Writer Diablo Cody has stated that “Lisa Frankenstein” takes place in the same cinematic universe as her 2009 film “Jennifer's Body.” Also appearing in the film are Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino.
