Below Deck

July 1, 2013

This season, a new captain comes aboard to try and wrangle Fraser Olender, Ben Willoughby, and the rest of the staff. Capt. Kerry has 30 years of experience working on boats and has spent almost two decades in yachting, but will the crew of the St. David serve him well?

#CyberSleuths: The Idaho Murders’ Series Premiere | Paramount+

If your true crime obsession has ever led you to think you might be able to solve a mystery of your own someday, this is the series for you. “#CyberSleuths” follows an obsessed group of TikTok true-crime sleuths as they sift through clues, explore leads, and try to unravel the brutal murders of four students at the University of Idaho.

#CyberSleuths: The Idaho Murders

February 6, 2024

The absence of any solid leads in the case created an information vacuum that the TikTokers were eager to fill as this whodunit case mushroomed into an American obsession. The show explores their findings in detail, and forces viewers to ask themselves whether the group helped more than they hurt and whether amateur detectives are a positive force.

The Marvels’ Streaming Premiere | Disney+

Carol Danvers has saved the universe more than once, but that doesn’t mean she gets to hang up her powers and go home! When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe.

The Marvels

November 8, 2023

In many ways, this movie is the culmination of a strategy that did not exactly work out for Disney. The company wanted to bind its Marvel Cinematic Universe more closely together while growing it by adding myriad new characters, and then linking the plots of Disney+ Marvel shows with theatrical releases. The strategy hasn’t exactly paid off, but “The Marvels” should be entertaining fun for fans who decided to skip it while it was in theaters!

Thursday, Feb. 8

Halo’ Season 2 Premiere | Paramount+

The Master Chief returns, and the war against the Covenant is going badly. The battle for Reach is just the beginning, and if humanity cannot stop its alien foes there, it may not be able to stop them anywhere. Spartan-117 and the rest of the enhanced warriors of the Spartan program will do everything they can, but even with the aid of the advanced AI Cortana, their efforts to save humanity could fail.

Halo

March 24, 2022

The “Halo” adaptation has generated plenty of controversy among fans of the video game franchise. The show makes some pretty fundamental changes to the story of the games (a Master Chief who removes his helmet, for example), but the producers have stressed since its beginning that the “Halo” series takes place in an alternate timeline, which preserves the canon from the games. Nevertheless, fans will be watching closely this season to see if the show aligns any more closely with the game series.

Upgraded’ Premiere | Prime Video

Prime Video’s latest original rom-com features a dynamic cast including Marissa Tomei, Camila Mendes, and Archie Renaux. Mendes plays Ana, a hard-working intern trying to break her way into the world of fine art. When she’s sent on a business trip overseas, Ana doesn’t see the harm in assuming the identity of her boss to snag a first-class seat!

Upgraded

February 7, 2024

While sitting up front, Ana meets Will, a charming and devastatingly handsome fellow passenger. The only problem is Will thinks Ana is someone else, and that lie sets off a hilarious chain of events that sees Ana trying to get closer to Will while preserving her new, false identity. It’s not so much a question of whether or not she’ll succeed, but rather how long she’ll be able to keep it going before the whole house of cards collapses on her!

‘Abducted off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story’ Premiere | Lifetime, stream with a free trial of Philo.

Based on a true story, “Abducted off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story” chronicles the abduction of a Philadelphia nurse’s aide at the hands of a homicidal predator, and reveals how she fought to survive and created a trail that would ultimately lead to her rescue. Carlesha (Riele Downs) was walking home from a family gathering when she was forced into a car at knifepoint.

Determined to survive and outsmart her captor, Carlesha leaves clues behind at every opportunity. Meanwhile, Carlesha’s mother, Keisha (Kenya Moore) stops at nothing to find her, making an impassioned plea to the media and working alongside a committed detective to rescue her before it’s too late.

Super Bowl LVIII | Watch on CBS or Nickelodeon, stream on Paramount+

Four years after the Chiefs and 49ers met in Super Bowl LIV, the two teams are preparing to clash again at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. The 9ers let a 10-point lead slip away in that game, and will be determined to stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs from spoiling their Super Bowl dreams this time around.

The game will be available to stream on both tiers of Paramount+ live. Fans who would prefer to watch on linear TV will have the option to watch the game in Ultra-High-Definition 4K on CBS, or they can enjoy the special “SpongeBob SquarePants“-themed alternate broadcast of the Big Game that will be exclusively available to watch on Nickelodeon.
