“American Fiction” | Tuesday, May 14

This year’s Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay, the black comedy follows Jeffrey Wright as Monk, a frustrated novelist who hits a breaking point with the establishment that profits from stereotypes and offensive tropes in Black entertainment and writes an outlandish satire under a pen name to prove his point. Once it’s mistaken for serious literature and receives high sales and praise, Monk is propelled into “the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.” The five-time nominee also received nominations for Best Picture and for Best Actor for Wright, who co-stars opposite an all-star cast of Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Sterling K. Brown, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Leslie Uggams, Adam Brody, Keith David, Okieriet Onaodowan, Myra Lucretia Taylor, and more.

“Outer Range” Season 2 | Thursday, May 16

Back home on the range. Josh Brolin leads the neo-western sci-fi series as Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher who finds a massive, perfectly round black void in the ground in one of his pastures, disrupting family life further as they continue to deal with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca, the annoyance from the rival Tillersons, and more strange occurrences. Lili Taylor, Tom Pelphrey, Lewis Pullman, Will Patton, Shaun Sipos, Noah Reid, Imogen Poots, and Tamara Podemski return for the sophomore season, amongst others.

Great things come in threes. The new three-part documentary series throws it back to Manchester United’s 1998–1999 season when the Alex Ferguson-managed team of both homegrown talent and international stars (including David Beckham, Jaap Stam, and Dwight Yorke) won the first “treble” in English football history: the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. From dressing room conflicts to what is considered the most unbelievable comeback victory in football, the all-access documentary looks at the famed team and its road to greatness.

“The Outlaws” Season 3 | Friday, May 31

The BBC crime comedy returns for the third year of its sentence. Created by Elgin James and Stephen Merchant (who stars), the series follows seven strangers from different walks of life during their community service sentence in Bristol, during which they discover a bag of money, unaware its actual owners pose the biggest threat. The new season picks up with crime boss The Dean (Claes Bang) behind bars awaiting trial and the title Outlaws moving on with their lives, until one of their own returns bringing news of a deadly secret and mortal danger.
