Assemble a streaming bundle for less than $30 to stream true crime

A combination of Hulu, Netflix, Peacock and The Roku Channel will allow you to stream a huge amount of true crime for $25 per month.

The Menendez Brothers documentary makes Netflix a must-have for true crime documentaries, but which other streamers should fans of the genre have?

There’s just something about true crime, isn’t there? Something that shoots that corkscrew sensation up your spine like nothing else can, a window into the darkest parts of humanity that you can look through from the comfort of your couch. If true crime is your favorite genre and you’re looking to stream without busting your budget, I’ve created a bundle of four streaming services for less than $30 per month that will help you do it!

Which true crime streaming services should you grab?

Peacock

Peacock hosts a huge amount of true crime content like Dateline.

The bundle starts with Peacock, which carries a fantastic amount of true crime in its library. The streamer offers titles like “Dateline,” “Prosecuting Evil with Kelly Siegler,” “Dr. Death: Cutthroat Conman,” “TikTok Star Murders,” and hundreds of other selections. Viewers can stream Peacock with ads starting at $8 per month, or save more by going with the annual plan for $80 per year.

Price of Peacock Premium: $8 per month

Hulu

Hulu has a huge amount of true crime content available.

Hulu makes its true crime content easy to find, as it’s organized in a content hub that will let you browse for hours on end thanks to the sheer volume of content available. Once you’re inside Hulu’s true crime hub, you’ll find original shows like “How I Caught My Killer,” titles sourced from linear channels like “The Murder of Laci Peterson,” ABC specials like “Web of Death,” and much more. Hulu will be the most expensive service on this list, but a 30-day free trial and the huge amount of true crime on the service will help that $10-per-month price go down a little easier.

Price of ad-supported Hulu: $10 per month

Netflix

The Menendez Brothers documentary is far from the only true crime title on Netflix

Netflix recently released the smash-hit documentary “The Menendez Brothers,” but that’s far from the only true crime title on the world’s largest streamer. Netflix also carries shows like “This is the Zodiac Speaking,” multiple seasons of “Cold Case Files,” “Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes,” and plenty of others. This streamer starts at just $7 per month for ad-supported streaming.

Price of Netflix Standard with Ads: $7 per month

The Roku Channel

The Roku Channel has several true-crime related channels.

I always like to throw a free streaming service into these bundles if applicable, and The Roku Channel is a great choice for true crime fans. It carries multiple true crime channels, including FilmRise Forensic Files, FilmRise True Crime, and more, along with on-demand titles like “True Crime Scene.” There’s a ton more to explore on The Roku Channel but its true crime selections are too good to ignore for fans of the genre.

  • Hulu

Hulu is a video streaming service that gives access to thousands of full seasons of exclusive series, hit movies, kids shows, and Hulu Originals like “Only Murders in the Building,” and “The Handmaid's Tale.”

It offers a good selection of current TV shows and its ad-supported tier is cheaper than both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. You will be able to watch most shows from networks like ABC and Fox, and cable channels like FXX, FXM, HGTV, and more.

The service has a Limited Commercials plan for $9.99 a month, or you can upgrade to their No Ads plan for $18.99 a month. For $82.99 a month, you can get Hulu Live TV from major cable channels, live locals and regional sports networks.

  • Netflix

Netflix is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 3,000+ movies, 2,000+ TV Shows, and Netflix Originals like Stranger Things, Squid Game, The Crown, Tiger King, and Bridgerton. They are constantly adding new shows and movies. Some of their Academy Award-winning exclusives include Roma, Marriage Story, Mank, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Netflix offers three plans — on 2 device in HD with their “Standard with Ads” ($6.99) plan, on 2 devices in HD with their “Standard” ($15.49) plan, and 4 devices in up to 4K on their “Premium” ($22.99) plan.

Netflix spends more money on content than any other streaming service meaning that you get more value for the monthly fee.

  • Peacock

Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” and “The Office,” as well as original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports including NFL, MLB, WWE, Olympics, Premier League, NASCAR, French Open, College Football and Basketball, and PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.

Peacock includes news, entertainment, sports, late-night, and reality from various NBCU properties including NBC, Bravo, and E!.

Peacock also includes the entire library of Bravo shows and has exclusives like “Below Deck: Down Under.” They also include live and on-demand access to Hallmark channels.

The company has acquired the rights to many classic shows like “Parks and Recreation,” and the entire Dick Wolf library including “Law & Order” and “Chicago Fire.”

The service also features blockbusters and critically-acclaimed films from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, Illumination and content acquired from Hollywood’s biggest studios.

  • Roku Channel

The Roku Channel is a free live TV streaming service that provides 350+ live linear streaming channels and more than 80,000 free movies and TV shows. The library contains entertainment from several different decades, including some major hits.

The service also made a splash with the acquisition of the Quibi library, now presented as Roku Originals. More original content is set to follow.

Users can add premium subscriptions to services like Paramount+, Showtime, STARZ, discovery+, and AMC+ that can be accessed within the Roku Channel ecosystem.
