HBCU Go, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Agree to Massive 10-Year Partnership

The 10-year deal will bring the SIAC’s football, basketball, and Olympic sports to the HBCU-focused streaming platform

Another collegiate athletic conference will stream games on HBCU GO as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The deal is for 10 years and grants HBCU GO cable, linear, streaming, broadcast, VOD, and pay-per-view rights to the conference’s regular season football, men’s and women’s basketball, and Olympic sports through 2032. HBCU GO is owned by Allen Media Group (AMG), a company that also owns The Weather Channel and dozens of local affiliates across the country.

  • HBCU GO will now broadcast SIAC collegiate athletic events following a 10-year multimedia rights deal
  • The streamer will also distribute games to local CBS affiliates in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, Miami, Tampa, and more
  • HBCU GO streams content from the nation’s 107 historically black colleges and universities

“This is a historic moment,” AMG founder and CEO Byron Allen said. “The HBCU GO team is excited to partner with SIAC to distribute their conference games to a broader audience. We are committed to bringing the best of HBCU culture and sports to our global platforms.”

Outside of streaming games through the HBCU GO app and on its website, the company will also broadcast games through local CBS affiliates in major media markets. This is thanks to an existing deal between the two parties forged in August 2022. Now, HBCU sports fans in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Sacramento, Miami, Tampa, and Pittsburgh can enjoy SIAC sports, along with the other conferences currently available on the platform.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with HBCU GO,” SIAC Commissioner Anthony Holloman said. “Through this innovative streaming platform, we invite fans from around the world to join us in celebrating the indomitable spirit of SIAC sports and culture. This new era of digital engagement opens doors to boundless opportunities and ensures that every thrilling moment will be etched in the memories of our dedicated supporters. We extend our sincere gratitude to HBCU GO for their invaluable collaboration, and we can’t wait to share the excitement and passion of SIAC sporting events with fans everywhere.”

What Other Sports Content Is Available on HBCU GO?

HBCU GO already has an agreement with the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where fans of Jackson State, Florida A&M, Alabama State, Texas Southern, and more can watch football, basketball, volleyball, and olympic sports. You can also watch Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) basketball on HBCU Go, as well as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) baseball.

The app is also the broadcast home of the HBCU Basketball Association, a professional basketball league populated with players who attended HBCUs.
