Is ‘Arthur the King’ Streaming Now? When Will it Hit STARZ, The Roku Channel, Peacock?

“Arthur the King” has scored a 64% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with most critics acknowledging the touching, if sometimes heavy-handed storytelling. Audiences are loving the movie so far, as its audience score is currently a sterling 93%. The film is based on a true story, having been adapted from “Arthur - The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home,” by Mikael Lindnord.

When Will ‘Arthur the King’ Be Available to Stream?

As Lionsgate is distributing “Arthur the King” in the United States, it’s easy to say which streamers will get the movie once it’s done with its theatrical run, as well as its tenure on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms that let customers rent movies still in cinemas, such as Prime Video.

Lionsgate’s in-house streamer STARZ will get its hands on the movie first, but when will that be? Alas, here we are forced to guess a bit, but we can use past Lionsgate releases as clues. Its recent “Hunger Games” prequel “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” has announced its arrival date on STARZ as May 14, 2024, which is 179 days from the movie’s initial release in November of 2023. The twisted road trip comedy “Joy Ride” took 147 days to reach STARZ, so Lionsgate clearly prioritizes a long theatrical/PVOD window, even if a movie isn’t part of a big-name franchise.

It’s also hard to predict when “Arthur the King” will land on The Roku Channel and Peacock. Both streamers will get the movie eventually; in 2022, Roku signed a deal with Lionsgate to exclusively stream the studio’s movies for a short window once they leave STARZ. After the Roku tenure, the movies head to Peacock, but the specific windowing times for these deals is not public information.

Ultimately, The Streamable predicts that “Arthur the King” will be available to stream on STARZ on Monday, August 12, which is 150 days from the movie’s first release on March 15. It will follow that with release windows on The Roku Channel and Peacock, though it could be 2025 before the latter service gets its hands on “Arthur the King.”
