Fubo to Carry Expanded Olympic Coverage Following Deal with NBC
Fubo customers will be able to watch more Olympics coverage on two new linear channels created especially for the games.
Fubo is continuing to enhance its profile as a sports-first streaming service. The platform has announced a new deal with NBCUniversal which will see the service offer expanded coverage of the XXXIII Olympiad, which begins on Friday, July 26 in Paris. Fubo customers will be able to stream all Olympic coverage from NBCU linear channels including NBC, USA Network, E!, CNBC, GOLF Channel, and Spanish-language channels such as Telemundo, and will also get access to around-the-clock channels with even more coverage.
Key Details
- Fubo will get two new “Paris Extra” channels to offer even more live event coverage.
- Viewers can sign into NBC apps with TV Everywhere credentials for on-the-go coverage.
- The deal will not provide Fubo customers with access to Peacock, which will have the most extensive Olympics coverage of all.

Fubo’s Olympics coverage will be augmented by the addition of the “Paris Extra” channels, which will be live 24 hours per day and will carry live events during competition hours and replays overnight. These channels are not exclusive to Fubo and are offered to all of NBCU’s distributors.
The programming available on the Paris Extra channels on Fubo includes:
- Paris Extra 1: A team sports-focused channel featuring events such as basketball, handball, water polo, field hockey, and more.
- Paris Extra 2: A combat and racket sport-focused channel featuring events such as judo, taekwondo, badminton, table tennis, and more.
NBC’s channels will provide at least nine hours of coverage every day, and each evening for 16 consecutive nights, NBC will broadcast the “Primetime in Paris” slate of top events. This segment will run for three hours every night, and USA Network, E!, CNBC, and GOLF Channel will chip in coverage during the games.
Fubo subscribers will also be able to use their TV Everywhere credentials to log into the NBC app, the NBC Sports app, and all other NBCU apps to watch coverage of the games anywhere they go. NBC Sports Digital will stream more than 5,000 hours of The Paris Olympics across its TVE platforms, including NBCOlympics.com. These apps will provide Fubo customers with highlights, extended recaps, and select full-event replays.
NBC and the four cable channels that will provide additional Olympics coverage will be available in Fubo’s base Pro plan, which starts at $79.99 per month — not including the regional sports network fee that most will have to pay. Viewers will have to upgrade to the Elite plan starting at $89.99 if they want to stream events in 4K; select coverage offered on USA Network will be available to stream in Ultra-High-Definition 4K this year.
Fubo
Fubo is a live TV streaming service with about 90 top channels that start at $79.99 per month. This plan includes local channels, 19 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs). In total, you should expect to pay about $94.99 per month, after adding in their RSN Fee. Fubo was previously known as “fuboTV.”
Does Fubo Have the Most Olympics Coverage?
As impressive as the expansive Olympic coverage on Fubo is, it still can’t beat the amount of Olympic programming that will be offered by Peacock this summer, nor can it beat the streamer on price.
Peacock will stream every single event of the games live, and will introduce a new whip-around show each day called “Gold Zone” hosted by NFL RedZone veterans Scott Hanson and Andrew Siciliano. Peacock will also have a multiview feature for watching multiple events simultaneously, and an artificial intelligence-aided recreation of Al Michaels' voice will offer a customized recap of the sports viewers are following most closely.
The monthly price of ad-supported Peacock Premium is set to rise from $5.99 to $7.99 before the Olympics begin, but that’s still a great discount over the $80+ per month you’ll pay for a Fubo subscription. Viewers can also get a limited-time deal on Peacock currently: $30 will get you a full year of service using promo code PEACZL3V0D1, a 50% discount off the normal annual price. Fubo will offer extensive Olympics viewing options this year in addition to dozens of other popular cable channels, but for the most possible coverage, a Peacock subscription is the way to go.
Peacock
Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” and “The Office,” as well as original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports including NFL, MLB, WWE, Olympics, Premier League, NASCAR, French Open, College Football and Basketball, and PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.
