Which Hallmark Movies Can You Watch on Netflix Thanks to New Licensing Deal?

The world’s largest stream is supplementing its original holiday rom-coms with some of the best from the genre’s leader.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for TV viewers who love a certain style of low-stake, feel-good rom-coms. The movie genre perfected by the Hallmark Channel has been a staple on cable for 15 years and is increasingly bringing devotees to streaming services. In addition to Hallmark’s recently rebranded in-house on-demand streamer Hallmark+, 2024 marks Countdown to Christmas' third year streaming on NBCUniversal’s Peacock platform, and now, Hallmark is partnering up with the biggest streaming service in the world. Starting next month, 10 Hallmark holiday favorites will stream exclusively on Netflix.

Key Details:

  • Starting Nov. 1, Netflix will stream 10 of Hallmark’s recent holiday favorites.
  • Nine of the films are from the 2023 Countdown to Christmas season.
  • Lacey Chabert, who stars in Netflix’s upcoming “Hot Frosty” leads three of the Hallmark imports.

Netflix has announced that beginning on Friday, Nov. 1, it will begin streaming 10 of Hallmark’s most popular recent movies, many of them from the 2023 edition of Countdown to Christmas. Haul Out the Holly, one of the audience and critical highlights of the 2022 Hallmark season is the only film not from last year’s holiday slate, joining its sequel Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up in the list of movies that will be available to stream on Netflix later this month. Perhaps not so coincidentally, both of those films — along with A Merry Scottish Christmas — star Lacey Chabert, Hallmark’s reigning queen of Christmas, who will star in one of Netflix’s 2024 Christmas rom-coms “Hot Frosty,” premiering on the streamer on Nov. 13.

As the holiday season progresses, Hallmark+ will be releasing three follow-ups to last year’s hit “Christmas on Cherry Lane” — “Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane” on Thursday, Dec. 5; “Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane” on Thursday, Dec. 12; and “Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane” on Thursday, Dec. 19. Starting in November, the only way to stream the multi-generational original that launched the franchise will be on Netflix.

The 10 Hallmark films streaming on Netflix beginning Nov. 1 will be:

Currently, the Haul Out the Holly movies are the only ones from the Netflix list that are available on Hallmark+, but a Hallmark representative has confirmed to The Streamable that the other eight will soon be available to stream on Hallmark+.
