The new year is a great time to be a subscriber to Peacock as not only is the NBCUniversal streaming service home to great movies and buzzy originals, but it also is the streaming home to the NBC on NFL, which for the first time ever, will include a Peacock-exclusive Wild Card game. In addition, the Hallmark Channel will not only have four original movies, but will also debut Season 2 of its hit original series “The Way Home.” The NBCU streamer is also home to original and exclusive Peacock series, and the next-day streaming of shows from across the NBCU family of networks, it is a good time to sign up for either a Peacock Premium ($5.99) or Peacock Premium Plus ($11.99) plan.

So, we here at The Streamable have put together a list of the five most exciting things coming to Peacock in January, and down below, you can take a look at everything new coming to the streaming service in the month.

What Are the Best Shows and Movies Coming to Peacock in January 2024?

ted’ | Season 1 All Episodes | Jan. 11

Who doesn’t love a foul-mouthed teddy bear with a Boston accent? In this Peacock exclusive, we explore the origin story of Ted the Talking Bear in a prequel series to the Ted movie series. The show might take place in the 1990s, but is based on the timeless truth that being 16 years old sucks. The only thing that makes it tolerable is going through it with a friend, even if that friend is a has-been magical teddy bear with a proclivity for drug use. Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.

Seth MacFarlane returns as the voice of Ted, and Max Burkholder plays his 16-year-old best friend John. The series also stars Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach as John’s parents Matty and Susan and Giorgia Whigham as cousin Blaire.

The Traitors’ | Season 2 Episodes 1-3 | Jan. 11

Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors “murder” (not literally) the Faithful one by one, while the Faithful try to discover who the Traitors are and eliminate them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor or Traitors makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.

Peacock Exclusive NFL Wild Card Game’ | Jan. 13

Just before Christmas, Peacock aired its first-ever exclusive NFL game as the Buffalo Bills edged out the Los Angeles Chargers 24-22 on Dec. 23. Now, the streaming service is ramping up its exclusive game as Peacock is set to air its first exclusive NFL playoff game on Saturday, Jan. 13. The game will be a Wild Card with teams to be determined once the playoff field is set.

However, if the streamer follows the format that it did with the Bills and Chargers game, it could mean that the playoff matchup will go commercial-free in the fourth quarter.

‘The Way Home’ | Season 2 Premiere | Jan. 22

Following Peacock's 2022 deal with the Hallmark Channel, the NBCU streamer has become a reliable streaming source for all things Hallmark, which was difficult before. Currently, Peacock subscribers can watch all original Hallmark releases on-demand for 72 hours, or whenever they are one one of Hallmark’s linear channels. There are also unique movie and series collections available on demand each month.

Beginning on Monday, Jan. 22 (the day after it premieres on cable), the second season of Hallmark’s “The Way Home” will arrive on Peacock. The first season was a smash hit for the channel in 2023 and is a multi-generational family drama that involves grief, reconnection, and a fair share of time travel. After life doesn’t turn out exactly as expected, three generations of women find themselves living together under one roof in a Canadian farmhouse. Kat Landry (played by Chyler Leigh), her 15-year-old daughter Ali (Sadie Laflamme-Snow), and Kat’s mother Del (Andie MacDowell) are all strong, willful, and independent women, but they are all dealing with their own unique losses.

But when Ali discovers that the pond on their property can send her back to her mom’s teenage years, it becomes a way for Kat to try to fix the thing that broke her family three decades before.

In the Know’ | Season 1, All Episodes | Jan. 25

As the world gets increasingly more isolated with people retreating to their respective echo chambers, Peacock’s first-ever adult animated series “In the Know” dives into the deceptively tumultuous world of public radio. The stop-motion comedy follows the staff of the public radio show, “In the Know,” hosted by Lauren Caspian (Zach Woods), a well-meaning but hypocritical nimrod. Each episode follows the making of an episode of the radio show, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real human guests and collaborates with a diverse crew of public radio staff (who are puppets).

“We love public radio. It’s engaging and comforting. But it also reflects aspects of ourselves that we’re embarrassed by,” creators and showrunners Zach Woods and Brandon Gardner said. “We want this show to start funny, scary, friendly conversations. We want to portray people who are possibly irredeemable but hopefully still loveable. And at the center of all of this is a frail, overconfident male puppet with a woman’s name: Lauren Caspian.”

In addition to Woods, the voice cast includes Mike Judge, Caitlin Reilly, Charlie Bushnell, J. Smith-Cameron, Carl Tart, and more.
