This July, beat the heat with the latest additions at Prime Video and Freevee!

It’s a light month for original series, films, and specials as we head into the summer lull, but there is still plenty to watch throughout the month: over 140 classic films between the two Amazon streamers will be added this month, from horrors such as the genre-changing “The Silence Of The Lambs” and last year’s newest “Evil Dead” franchise installment “Evil Dead Rise,” the first five films of the “Rocky” franchise, and comedies like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “Animal House,” “13 Going On 30,” and much, much more.

Emma Roberts goes galactic in this new Amazon Original film as Rex, a Florida party girl with dreams of going to space and gets into NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training program on a fluke. In over her head as she trains with other candidates with better resumés, Rex must hold her cover and let her smarts, heart, and moxie get her out of her training and into the cosmos. Poppy Liu, Gabrielle Union, Tom Hopper, Sebastián Yatra, David Foley, Desi Lydic, Kuhoo Verma, Yasha Jackson, Troy Iwata, Andrew Call, and Josephine Huang also star. Liz W. “Troppo” Season 2 | Thursday, July 25

The criminally underrated Australian detective drama returns to both Prime Video and Freevee for its second season on July 25. Based on the contemporary Crimson Lake book series, the series follows an eccentric private investigator with a criminal past (Nicole Chamoun) who recruits a disgraced ex-cop (Thomas Jane) to help solve the disappearance of a Korean tech pioneer. Picking up six months after the duo solve their first murder case, the second season, which is inspired by the second book in the series, “Redemption Point,” the two must now investigate a bizarre local murder of a healing retreat leader.

The returning cast includes Radha Mitchell, Simon Lyndon, Angela Punch McGregor, Ling Cooper Tang, and Sara West with Zindzi Okenyo, Ursula Yovich, Miah Madden, Ethan Lwin, Chloe Delle-Vedove, and Brett Tucker joining for the second season.

“Cirque Du Soleil: Without a Net” | Thursday, July 25

Award-winning documentarian Dawn Porter (“Gideon’s Army,” “John Lewis: Good Trouble”) takes a high-flying, unprecedented look at Cirque du Soleil with her latest feature following the international circus company as it works to reboot its flagship production, “O” at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, after the global COVID-19 shutdown. Picking up over a year after having to shutter, the project captures the highs and lows as crew members and performers work to meet their own world-class standards in time for the (re)opening night.
