What Streaming Service Has Bally Sports - How to Watch in 2024

Important Update: In October 2024, Bally Sports became FanDuel Sports Network. Here's everything you need to know.

If you’re trying to watch your local NBA, MLB, or NHL team, there’s a good chance the games air on a Bally Sports Network. We’ll explain how you can watch and save money. When you choose a streaming service to watch Bally Sports, there is no contract and you can go month-to-month. Let’s dig in!

Which Streaming Services Carry Bally Sports in 2024?

Right now, there are just two streaming services with all the Bally Sports channels: DIRECTV STREAM, DIRECTV Via Internet, and Fubo.

To get the channels on DIRECTV STREAM, you’d need the “Choice” package, which includes 35 of the top 35 cable channels, which tops Fubo’s 19.

Overall, Fubo has access to 197 channels while DIRECTV STREAM offers 220.

DIRECTV STREAM offers every major channel Fubo does, but also gives you access to A&E, AMC, Cartoon Network, CNN, Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, History, Investigation Discovery, Lifetime, TBS, TLC, TNT, Travel Channel, truTV, and WE tv.

Between the two, The Streamable recommends DIRECTV STREAM for most people.

Unfortunately, Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, and Philo do not carry the Bally channels.

There is another option that may make sense for some users: Bally Sports+. This standalone streamer does offer most of the Bally Sports collection, though there are some Bally-affiliated teams that are not available on the platform. Consult our list below if you’re considering this option.

How Much Does it Cost to Watch Bally Sports?

If you choose DIRECTV STREAM, Bally Sports are available with the package that costs $114.99 / month.

Fubo includes the Bally channels on all packages, which start at $94.99 / month (including fees).

If your teams are available on Bally Sports+, the cost is $19.99 / month.

Can You Watch Bally Sports for Free?

There is no free Bally option, though DIRECTV STREAM gives you a 5-day free trial and Fubo allows a 7-day free trial.

Bally Sports+ offers 7 days for free.

No. Bally Sports networks are not available in 4K resolution.

What Happened to the Teams That Left Bally Sports?

Bally has been losing some teams in recent years. In most cases, those teams have chosen to appear free over-the-air via antenna. Some teams have landed on new channels that are carried widely.

San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies have dedicated channels on DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo, or fans can choose Rockies.TV or Padres.TV.

Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz are available for free over-the-air. Fans can also subscribe to Suns Live or Jazz+.

Florida Panthers will be available for free over-the-air. As the Arizona Coyotes are headed to Utah, the team is likely to follow the Jazz’s path. The Dallas Stars will have their own streaming service: Victory+.

What Will Happen to Bally Sports Next?

In the coming months, Bally Sports+ will be available as an add-on to Prime Video.

At the end of the 2024 MLB season, the Bally name will fall away and the networks will be rebranded.

Due to parent company Diamond Sports’ bankruptcy and the leagues’ displeasure with Bally’s model, we can expect big changes in the regional sports landscape in the coming months and years. The MLB is said to be weighing a national RSN system of its own.

What If You Don’t Live Near Your Team?

Bally is a strong option if you live near your favorite team, but if you live out of the local market, you’ll need a different option. Here are your choices for each league.

  • NBA League Pass

For basketball fans, NBA League Pass offers the opportunity to follow one team or the entire league with every game (blackout restrictions apply). Prices and features vary greatly, depending on what you’d like to watch.

Subscriptions include Home and Away broadcasts, Mobile View, plus additional languages and camera angles. You’ll also get in-stream advanced statistics so you can check the box score and get live stats on players and teams without ever leaving the stream.

The NBA offers three plans: “Team Pass” ($13.99) provides great options if you only want to follow a single team.

“League Pass” ($16.99) lets you see every game across the entire league.

The “League Pass Premium” ($24.99) plan provides the option to watch on 3 devices without commercials.

You can also save by subscribing for the full season. It’s $89.99 / year for the Team Pass, $109.99 / year for the League Pass, or $159.99 / year for League Pass Premium.

NBA League Pass is also available as an Amazon Prime Video channel.

  • MLB.TV

MLB.TV is the official streaming service of Major League Baseball. You can see every out-of-market game live or on demand, and choose home or away TV and radio feeds. The app allows fans to watch up to four games simultaneously on the same screen through their Multi-view feature. MLB.TV can be added to your Sling TV or Prime Video subscription.

Users can choose to follow the entire league for “All Teams” ($149.99) plan, which is also available for “All Teams” ($29.99) a month, or you can stream one team’s out-of-market games for “Single Team” ($129.99).

One major caveat about the service: Your local games may be blacked out through MLB.TV, so you may still need to watch through your local provider.

If you’d like to go beyond the games, MLB.TV provides features, documentaries, and classic games.

  • ESPN+

For NHL fans, ESPN+ is a must. You’ll get access to 1,050 out-of-market games featuring every team. The service also includes thousands of exclusive live events from UFC, MLB, PGA TOUR LIVE, LaLiga, Top Rank Boxing, and more — plus a variety of college sports, including football, basketball, and baseball from 20+ conferences.
