ESPN+ to Stream Out-of-Market NHL Preseason Games

The NHL’s biggest stars have already reported to training camps across the United States and Canada, and that means preseason games are soon to follow. In fact, the league’s preseason contests have already begun, and ESPN+ subscribers can watch the action unfold this week as more teams get underway.

Between now and Saturday, Oct. 7, ESPN+ will present 27 out-of-market NHL preseason contests. So long as you don’t live in the home television market of either team playing in the game, your ESPN+ subscription can be used to watch all of these showdowns.

Highlights of the schedule include last year’s Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights taking on 2022’s winner the Colorado Avalanche on Sept. 25, as well as the potential debut of 2023 No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard when his Chicago Blackhawks face the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, Sept. 28.

ESPN+ offers more than 27,000 live sporting events every season. It carries college football games from top conferences like the SEC and the Big 12, and this year the service will stream a special, “Toy Story”-themed version of a live NFL game for the first time in history. ESPN+ also recently renewed a broadcasting agreement with the NCAA's Patriot League, keeping that conference’s games on the platform for multiple years to come.
